How we check listings
Every listing on Huck's Guide is a real business, checked and dated. Here is what that means.
What "Last checked" means
Before a business goes on the site, we confirm, from at least two separate places, that it is a real business and that it does the kind of work it is listed for. One-person businesses count too. We write down the date we did that. That date is the "Last checked" you see on every card and profile.
"Last checked" is not a review. It says nothing about quality or price. When we check a listing again, we update the date. If we learn a business has closed, we take its listing down.
Badges on Huck's Guide are earned, never sold.
Who shows first
Free listings take turns at the top. Businesses based in Boundary County come first, then the ones that serve it from nearby, and we shuffle the order within each group once a day.
How a business updates or removes its listing
Use the Get listed form. Choose your business from its profile page ("Is this your business? Update it free") and tell us what to change, or ask us to take the listing down.
See something wrong?
Tell us and we will check it again.
