Furnace replacement and heat pump installation
Swapping out a furnace or putting in a heat pump is a bigger job than a repair. Before you sign, ask who buys the permit and who books the state inspection.
The state takes inspection requests by phone or online, and either way it needs the permit number. That's one more reason to know whose name the permit is in.
